Download Love, Upload Loving Relationships

Think DigitalToday, as I recover from a failing hard drive on my computer that was just replaced and I download programs and upload files, I am thinking about lifestyle, love and relationships in computer language. I scanned my life and my thoughts to discover what programs I have downloaded, what files in my memory have been corrupted, what thoughts are fragmented and how I can protect my body, mind and spirit from malicious attacks of negativity, viruses and other malware.

SCAN YOUR LIFE

As this year is coming to an end, what a perfect time to scan your life by briefly reviewing what has worked and not worked in the past year and in all the years before that. Scan your lifestyle, your thoughts and behavior patterns, your favorite words and phrases, the dreams you used to have and the ones on your horizon. Do a search to determine the quality and value of your relationships. Decide which people you would place on your desktop, if that was possible, and which ones would belong in a folder far away from the home page.

Your computer cannot read files with faulty memory, inaccurate language and incorrect coding. Likewise, you cannot create and live your dreams without cleaning up the browser in your brain. You may need to add more positive memory to the part of your mind that is overloaded with negative beliefs that no longer serve you. You may need to refresh your memory and search for new programs that help to expand your creativity and productivity.

Are you ready to delete the damaged files stored in the back of your mind?
Can you imagine downloading programs that will end your suffering and help you to more easily achieve your goals?

CREATE YOUR LIFESTYLE FOLDER

Decide how you want to live your life, your ultimate lifestyle. Do a search through the different parts of your life to determine what areas need more of your attention, what you want to change and improve, and what you want to continue doing. Create an implementation funnel to determine the steps you will take to achieve your goals.

Build and reorganize your social network. Make sure to follow those who you believe have your best interests at heart and whose thoughts and actions are aligned with your goals and dreams. Favorite those who love, support and appreciate you. Unfriend the ones who hurt you or sabotage your positive actions.

  1. Wow Dr. Erica!

Now that was a totally awesome analogy! And I so loved reading it!

Boy, if only I had the type of discipline it takes to execute on the level you’re referring to here!LOL!

I can only imagine the results that might have taken place to this point in my
    life!

I really like the way you put this post together! Thank you and I can’t wait to share it!LOL!

    • Mark,

The internet has changed our lives and I love using terminology that we are all familiar with and relating it to our everyday and relationship issues.

      Warmly,

      Dr., Erica

  2. Hi, very interesting post. Thanks for helping me scan my life and delete the damaged files stored in the back of my mind. Great post!

    • Willena,

I am finding that the best discoveries and the deepest understandings occur through the experience of difficult, and often unwanted, situations. As we handle the problems we encounter, we can apply that learning to many other unrelated life situations.

      Dr. Erica

  3. Hi Erica,
    Beautiful article,
    ‘Create your lifestyle folder’
this applies for everything and it’s always
good idea to keep it fresh and clean.
    Thank you,

  4. Loved reading this and I know I also have to clean up my hard drive on the computer. I have so much stuff on there that I don’t need but it is finding the time to get it done but your post has given me that reminder to do this.

    • Merle,
The most important thing, as I unfortunately discovered is to make sure your programs and files are being back up on the computer. In your life, however, some of those programs need to be uninstalled. And the wisdom comes from knowing the difference.

  5. What a great analogy, Erica. For me it’s a time to clear out my hard drive because it got so full it started to affect my RAM. I had too much on the go at once and it was hard to concentrate my efforts on the important things. This is going to be a year of renewed focus by getting rid of extraneous and unimportant things in my business world. More time spent with my family is on the agenda.

    • Sue,

My computer hard drive was failing and was replaced but my brain’s hard drive has been working overtime, with overlapping tasks to accomplish, distractions, and some wires crossing. So, my plan for 2015 is to give my hard drive some breathing room, to complete the projects I am planning, and then to get some assistance. I just can’t do all these different pieces by myself.

      Warmly,
      Dr. Erica

  6. Hi Dr. Erica,
since we have so much to do with computers this is such an awesome way to look at how we deal with life, love and relationships.
Knowing how to handle any glitches in technology would be similar to how we cope when we are triggered in the present by a past program.

Thank you so much for sharing your insights!
    Love and Light!
    Yorinda

    • Hi Yorinda,

Always nice to hear from you. It is so true. Dealing with computer glitches does help us to develop patience and to realize we don’t know it all and have to sometimes accept assistance. And the best laid plans do not always work out as expected so we need to expect the unexpected with our computers and with our life.

      Warmly,
      Dr. Erica

  7. Erica

I love this analogy! I know what you were going through with your computer and it was not easy task. We, also have to scan our lives and what better time to do so is the end of the year.

I do this with business often, but I also like to do it with my personal life. How did I enhance my relationship with my husband? Did I give him the attention he well deserves? How grateful am I and have I expressed that enough?

Thanks so much for helping me scan the love part of my life!

    -Donna

  8. Hi Erica! This is an awesome post. This is the best time for me to follow your advice and do a complete cleanup of my hard drive. I know you are mainly talking about relationships here, but I think this applies to every aspect of our lives. I really appreciate you sharing this and it really is helping me rethink a lot of things already. Thanks again and happy new year!

    • Houda,

My main focus is usually about relationships but when I received that hard drive failing message I couldn’t help thinking about all aspects of my life that I would like to clean up, tidy up, and install new programs. So I had fun using my computer language with a different focus.

      Warmly,
      Dr. Erica
