All relationships, whether business or personal, with extended family, friends or intimate partners, follow similar patterns of development. Through guided imagery exercises, writing and sharing with partners and the group, attendees learn what happens in relationships as they go through the various stages of development.
Relationships begin with the initial phase when 2 or more people are attracted for some perceived benefit and attempt to get closer by sharing information. This stages usually involves a high level of energy and the promise of fulfillment of the desired outcome.
The second stage is when the real relationship develops. During this phase, discoveries have been made, disappointments revealed and the relationship requires more sustained effort to keep it going. Most relationships end during this phase.
The 3rd and final stage of a relationship is when persistence has paid off, communication has built and all involved feel a strong alignment of aspirations and goals.
